Both Rua Castilho and Avenida da Liberdade have been assuming themselves as the center of luxury commerce. Here, the word luxury includes the architectural beauty of the buildings. Most of them are from the early twentieth century, some with bright colors, others in the art nouveau style. Some of them were even winners of the Valmor prize, such as nº 206-208, which is today a Prada store. The Castilho & Liberdade area is one of the most sought after areas in Lisbon. At night on the Avenida there is no lack of fun and culture, for besides the kiosks, which vibrate with youthful energy on summer nights, there are a number of good restaurants, hotels, cinemas and theaters. The Amoreiras Plaza and Páteo Bagatela help direct human traffic. The Amoreiras area is mostly residential, and the people who come here usually have a concrete goal. There is not much street commerce (it is concentrated in Amoreiras itself), but some luxury hotels and a beautiful garden covered by trees and the Águas Livres Aqueduct, which at this point reaches its final destination, Mãe D'água, a place worth visiting.
